How might we improve our present political system? Many years ago there existed a very successful "grassroots" series of workshops focused on political education in an effort to help citizens make better informed voting decisions. These workshops were held neighbor-to-neighbor in homes throughout the land. The volunteer workshop leaders would be invited to attend area homes with a series of three or four pre-planned, informal programs that explained the political party structure from precinct committeemen to presidential candidates. Light refreshments were served and many visiting neighbors became lifelong friends. Such a program is now being organized by our own Allcan.org.
